Manassas Jazz Festival
The Manassas Jazz Festival is an annual event, held at the Harris Pavilion, adjacent to the historic railroad depot and Amtrak station. The event is a great mix of music, barbecue, and beer. There are more than 25 breweries represented at this event, and this year, country music is being added to the line-up. Guests can also enjoy the festival’s music, food, and craft beer.
Alexandria King Street Art Festival
The Alexandria King Street Art Festival celebrates the vibrant art scene in Alexandria’s Old Town. The festival draws over 200 artists from around the world to this outdoor art gallery spanning six blocks. Visitors can purchase unique pieces from participating artists and mingle with the artists. Over 200 artists will exhibit their work, and some local and national artists will participate. Robinson Landing will also participate as an exhibitor, displaying information about recent archeology discoveries and its vision for Old Town’s waterfront.
George Washington Birthday Celebration
Alexandria, Virginia, has been celebrating George Washington’s birthday since the Revolutionary War. The city has a committee for the George Washington Birthday Celebration. Members of the committee are appointed by the City Council and represent a variety of civic organizations. They include representatives from Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Society, Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association, and Alexandria City High School students. The committee also includes local residents. In addition to a committee chair, other members include city officials, residents, and children.
Occoquan Virginia arts and crafts festivals
If you’re interested in shopping locally and discovering the art of handcraftsmanship, then the Occoquan Virginia arts and crafts festival may be the place for you. Held annually, the Occoquan Fall Arts & Crafts Show features hundreds of local and regional artisans and crafters. Visitors can browse unique handcrafted jewelry, pottery, paintings, and other items, and enjoy delicious food and shopping at the event.
Gaylord National’s Christmas on the Potomac
You can enjoy a dazzling display of lights and a spectacular show during the annual holiday celebration at Gaylord National Resort. For those traveling with children, the Holiday Exhibition is especially exciting. You can take a trip aboard the Capital Wheel, or enjoy a family photo opportunity with Santa Claus.
